About the rock farm solar project

The Rock Farm site has been designed to generate enough clean electricity to power more than 16,000 homes each year while offsetting an estimated 7,500 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. Scheduled to connect to the grid in 2026, the project forms part of the UK's wider transition towards a secure, low-carbon energy system.

Environmental Benefits and Biodiversity Enhancements

In addition to clean energy generation, the project has been carefully designed to deliver long-term environmental and biodiversity benefits. These measures include:

  • Tree and hedgerow planting to support local wildlife habitats.

  • Wildflower meadows to encourage pollinators and biodiversity uplift.

  • Sheep grazing for natural land management and dual land use.

These enhancements ensure the project integrates sensitively with the surrounding landscape while contributing to wider environmental goals.

Supporting the clean energy future

The sale to Enviromena represents an important milestone for Anglo Renewables as we continue to bring forward high-quality renewable energy projects across the UK. We are proud to have worked closely with Environmena on this transaction and look forward to seeing Rock Farm progress into construction and begin delivering benefits for both the local community and the national grid.
