Anglo Renewables is pleased to announce that planning permission has been granted for the Nickerlands Solar Farm near Ongar, Essex. This project, originated and developed by Anglo Renewables, marks another milestone in our commitment to delivering high-quality renewable energy infrastructure in the UK.

Developed in partnership with IG Renewables, the solar farm will generate enough clean energy to power approximately 5,624 homes annually, supporting local and national climate targets. The project contributes to Epping Forest District Council’s commitment to becoming a carbon-neutral district by 2030 and aligns with the UK Government’s Clean Power by 2030 strategy.
Designed with biodiversity at its core, Nickerlands Solar Farm will deliver a 70% net gain in habitat units, alongside enhancements such as pollinator-friendly wildflower planting, hedgerow reinforcement, and tree planting to improve local biodiversity. A £25,000 community fund will also be established to support local initiatives.
James Stone, Managing Director at Anglo Renewables, commented:" We are delighted to receive planning consent for Nickerlands Solar Farm. We would like to express our appreciation to the local council for their efficient and positive approach to this application, and we look forward to the significant benefits of renewable energy generation and biodiversity net gain being realised once the site moves into construction. Partnering with IG Renewables throughout this project has been a hugely positive experience, and we are excited at the prospect of progressing further projects over the coming months.”
We look forward to progressing the project towards construction and continuing our work in delivering a sustainable, low-carbon energy future.
